Emergency Care
摘要
Pediatric patients account for approximately 20% of all emergency department visits. Infants and children less than 5 years disproportionately seek care making up more than 40% of visits. Pediatric ED visits decreased significantly during the COVID pandemic but have increased as children have returned to daycare, school, and normal life. Most children are seen in community emergency department settings rather than dedicated pediatric emergency departments. For these reasons, it is important for all providers to develop skills in assessment and management of common pediatric conditions.
