Murmurs

Recognizing pediatric murmurs is facilitated by having a contextual framework to be able to identify the sounds and classify their significance. This chapter provides a basic murmur framework, but useful knowledge and competency in recognizing murmurs requires ample listening experiences. The framework presented herein includes the murmur components, background information, and description of the murmur sounds, but actual listening is a necessary element to develop the knowledge and proficiency.
