Meiko is a descendent of early Chinese and Japanese immigrants who lived through Japanese American incarceration during the WWII and the long history of anti-Chinese discrimination. She connects the dots between her ancestors’ and her own experiences of racism as she tells her story of growing up in Texas in the past and living in GA today. She also explains how and why she got involved in AAVEd and the fight for teaching historical truth.
