Investigation of Natural Resources as Natural Healing Factors with Role in Health Tourism in Transylvania

The purpose of this study is to investigate the natural resources as a healing factor found in the territory of Transylvania. The resources as natural healing factors are numerous on the territory of Transylvania and their dispersion depends on the geographical conditions. Natural resources have contributed to the formation of tourist destinations, balneary resorts, and infrastructure development with a decisive role in tourism and the economic and social development of the region. The territorial dispersion methodology was used in the study. The research results highlight the dispersion of natural resources, the areas with the richest resources, the destinations formed around them, as well as the developed accommodation infrastructure. The areas are rich in mineral waters in the Center region, and thermal waters in the North-West region stand out visibly, being known and frequented for their nationally and internationally recognized therapeutic effects.
