The Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine, a Challenge for Europe
摘要
In the context of the refugee crisis in Ukraine, this chapter analyzes the current situation of this phenomenon, as well as the strong and multi-dimensional European Union (EU) response, which includes political, diplomatic, economic, financial, humanitarian, and sectoral factors, as well as efforts to promote the application of international law. Addressing this phenomenon is a complex task requiring close cooperation between European countries, international organizations, and other stakeholders. But the major scientific result of the article is to define and support the new phase of transition on ongoing efforts and addressing these challenges, which include close collaboration between European countries, engagement with international organizations, and the development of comprehensive migration and integration policies. And because I want to keep my objectivity on the chosen theme in these complex times, it is necessary to support respect for international law and commitments within the rules-based international system. European principles are a clear benchmark to follow, and values such as European unity and solidarity should finally lead to the identification and implementation of the best solutions. It is important to see an end to illegal and unjustified military operations and the restoration of a climate conducive to dialog and peace.
