摘要

Surgery for epilepsy has evolved dramatically and forms the mainstay of management of drug-resistant epilepsy. The aim of epilepsy surgery is to either resect or disconnect the region of the brain responsible for generating seizures. These disconnections involve making surgical incisions through the white matter pathways to stop the propagation of seizures. This chapter deals with the white matter anatomy relevant for epilepsy surgery.
