Neurosurgical Approach to Vestibular Schwannoma
摘要
Vestibular schwannomas represent 5–10% of intracranial tumors. Incidental diagnosis is an increasingly frequent instance due to advanced diagnostic methods within reach of the general population. It follows that surgical treatment cannot be separated from guaranteeing a good quality of life and a risk of complications as low as possible. These objectives can be pursued only through in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the temporal bone and of the elective surgical approaches: retrosigmoid, translabyrinthine, and middle fossa.
