Endoscopic Techniques Applied to Neurovascular Pathology

Neurovascular pathologies constitute one of the most challenging conditions in neurosurgical practice, with continually evolving treatment strategies usually preceded by technological advancements. The recent development and maturation of endoscopic techniques in skull base surgery have motivated neurosurgeons to incorporate the endoscope into the surgical armamentarium for treating selected neurovascular conditions, whether as an adjunct to traditional microsurgical approaches or as a less invasive alternative to them. This chapter aims to provide an updated review of the different endoscopic techniques and approaches relevant to neurovascular surgery, their potential indications, and anatomical considerations, providing further clinical orientation with illustrative cases performed by the signor author. Nonetheless, the techniques described herein have yet several limitations, which are also here considered and must not be ignored.
