Neurosurgery can be wild, but this is the story of a neurosurgeon whose love is for wildlife. I was interested in wildlife long before I was interested in surgery, and had pets ranging from dogs, cats, mongoose, rabbits, guinea pigs to squirrels and many more while growing up. I always felt that animals and birds and the more silent parts of nature serve as a reminder and keep reminding us of our place on the planet. Alas! This is not meant to be a sermon, but a story of some personal encounters, though one’s point of view always percolates through any recollection.
