Enucleation

Enucleation is a procedure that is typically performed for removal of a blind, painful eye or in cases of ocular malignancy, or severe trauma. Surgeon’s goal is to remove appropriate amount of optic nerve tissue if an intraocular tumor is present, and create a socket that would accommodate a suitable prosthesis.
