摘要

In this chapter is proposed an alternative system for positioning, which can be integrated at LiDAR data, or using in case of failure of the main device of the SLAD system. The system is based on low-cost technology, in particular on BLE beacons, which exploits the RSSI for distance estimation and positioning. The beacons BLE are devices which allow the hardware transmitter to broadcast advertising packets, i.e., containing short information messages, at flexible up-date rates. Among the kinds of information permitted in the BLE standard, the RSSI, which decreases with increasing distance, can be used to allow a receiving device to detect proximity to a specific BLE beacon based on the received radio signal strength.
