Natural Law Liberalism as a Philosophy of Modernity

In this last chapter I revisit the challenges to Modernity set out in Chap. 1 and connect them to the policy recommendations forwarded throughout the work. The hope is that these recommendations will be seen as dampening the force of these challenges. There is no intractable internal contradiction at the heart of our social order, although there is further work to be done. And given that Modernity, for all its shortcomings, has produced the highest standards of living every achieved by humans, our best policy is to adhere to the core commitments of Modernity while recognising that it is still a work in progress.
