The Path Forward for Transition to Sustainable Energy

  • Hassan Qudrat-Ullah

摘要

The sustainable energy transition is the process of transforming the energy system from one that relies on fossil fuels and causes environmental and social problems, to one that is based on renewable energy and promotes environmental and social benefits. The sustainable energy transition is essential for achieving the global climate goals and ensuring the energy security and well-being of all people. However, the sustainable energy transition is also complex and challenging, as it involves multiple dimensions and aspects of the energy system, and affects multiple stakeholders and sectors in the energy system. In this chapter, we provide some recommendations for individuals, governments, and industries on how they can contribute to and benefit from the sustainable energy transition, and also highlight the importance of collaboration and cooperation among different stakeholders and sectors to achieve the common vision and goals of sustainable energy for all. We draw on the information and knowledge from various sources, such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), the World Economic Forum (WEF), the United Nations (UN), and the academic literature. We also provide some examples and cases of the best practices and lessons learned from the real-world experiences and initiatives of the sustainable energy transition.
