Innovative Framework Based on Open-Source Programs in Engineering Education to Modeled Buildings’ Heat Gains
摘要
One of the main challenges in the twenty-first-century building sector is constructing structures with minimal energy emissions and consumption. To achieve this, it is essential to form multidisciplinary teams that integrate energy engineers in the design and execution stages of projects. However, these professional’s limited or nonexistent background in the construction environment makes their integration difficult. Nevertheless, the presence of websites, open-access interfaces, and freely licensed software developed by universities and aligned with international standards is an option to streamline the teaching and search for energy solutions in buildings for engineers not directly linked to the civil engineering field. Therefore, this book chapter addresses the design of a flexible framework for analyzing building heat gains in energy engineering curricula.
