ECMO is an advanced form of life support. Due to its complexities, various complications and emergent situations may occur. Increased knowledge in these areas, will assist the practitioner in addressing these complications quickly to prevent detrimental outcomes. This chapter will address common complications and focus on prevention and approaching these complications.
