The Standardization of Weights and Measures

In the previous chapters, I discussed regulations, registers and identity papers as the means by which the state's infrastructural power was extended and its institutional fixity consolidated. In this last chapter, I approach a different category of logistical techniques, the units of measurement. Here, too, the evidence mainly consists of administrative ordinances and adjudications of litigations.
