Protracted Exposures May Be Misunderstood

The accepted “Linear No Threshold” model of risk from exposure to ionizing radiation is likely not suitable to describe protracted exposures at environmental dose rates. Assessments of the safety of operating nuclear power plants may not be valid as a result.
