Stage 2: Get the Ideas Flowing

Once you are clear on the assignment task, the next step is to identify all the things you already know about the topic to get your ideas flowing. You might surprise yourself as you draw out ideas, experiences and even opinions that you were not really aware that you had. You can think of this as topic exploration. You are asking yourself what you already know and also what you need to know to answer your assignment brief and you are writing it down in fragments or loose notes as part of your inquiry into the topic.
