摘要

As a student, you will be learning in a range of situations (including lectures, workshops, tutorials, supervision meetings, group work and online classes). You will also be learning from a variety of sources including textbooks, national policy documents, international journal papers and online media etc. It is impossible to retain all the information you will encounter on your ECEC programme and thankfully there is no expectation that you retain all of this information. However, there will be times that you will need to be able to demonstrate your knowledge of a topic or to show that you have understood the key concepts and elements of a particular policy theory or educational practice. Notetaking is a skill and tool that will help you to meet such requirements of your programme. This chapter discusses notetaking as a key college skill that will help you to recall, understand and connect important information from your programme.
