Urgent Tasks of the Educational Methodology for Foreign Languages

The question of the general educational significance of foreign languages is perhaps even more urgent in our country than in Western Europe. The fact is that Latin, now considered an outdated relic, was long ago liquidated in our country as one of the foundational subjects of general education. This is why the question of whether foreign languages can serve as such a foundational subject has become so pressing in the context of Soviet schooling.
