Industry and Innovation Accomplishment Through the Relationship Between Destination Branding and Sustainability: SDG 9 in the Tourism Sector

This research paper examines the relationship between destination branding and sustainability and investigates how it helps achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9 in the tourism sector. A billion people worldwide lack access to essential amenities such as reliable electricity, clean water and basic sanitation, health care, phone service, and the Internet. Resilient infrastructure, economic growth and employment, research, innovative technologies, and the ability to eliminate disparities are all necessary for society to progress. Industrial production is crucial to economic growth, and sustainable, local growth is possible with the aid of tourism. The fundamental proposition of this exploratory study is destination branding that would enable organizations to sustainably manage human resources during and postcrisis in the tourism sector. An analysis is based on secondary data and considers policy interventions by various countries for developing the global tourism sector. It purports to provide interesting revelations regarding building sustainability in the tourism sector and its practical implications on business organizations, managers, and employees. Destination branding can improve the economy and create jobs by investing in sustainable infrastructure, which also benefits visitors. Finally, the study stresses the value of community participation in developing ecotourism. Sustainable tourism development that is good for the local economy and environment requires close cooperation between destination managers and the communities they serve. This research helps to understand the role of destination branding and its impact on the revisit intention and sustainability using the SOR model to achieve SDG 9 in the tourism sector. Destination managers and marketers can use destination branding to promote sustainable tourism practices and achieve SDGs.
