US Scanning Technologies and AI

Medical scanning techniques bring the revolution in the health sector by incorporating cutting-edge scanning technology and methods which achieved significant progress to capture details regarding physiological anomalies. Current progress in scanning technologies, for instance, 3D digital sonography, ultrasound computed tomography (3D USCT) enabled the acquisition of both intra- and preoperative scanning images. Toward precision in diagnosis, therapeutic, and treatment policy, real-time scanning technology with data interpretation techniques are currently being proposed. The growing number of high-resolution scanned images can be used for complex medical applications; hence, research also has carried out to develop efficient automatic data processing techniques to facilitate radiologists and clinical practitioners. Accurate medical image processing approaches are crucial for clinical decisions. In this direction, the advancement of deep learning technology achieved high research interest, and many onward progresses have been reported. In this chapter, we will review and discuss recent progress in medical scanning technology and the integration of artificial intelligence techniques used in the medical imaging field.
