Robotic Transorbital Surgery: Concepts and Future Directions
摘要
The utilization of the transorbital approach in brain and skull base surgery is steadily increasing. Various specially designed tools are used for efficient movement in narrow passages and spaces, similar to using an endoscope to maximize the view through a narrow entrance. Just as surgeries using a laparoscope have transitioned to robotic surgery using Da Vinci, endoscopic transorbital surgery will ultimately develop in the direction of utilizing robots. In this chapter, the robotic tools currently used in the skull base area are examined, and the potential for applying robots in transorbital surgery and future directions are discussed.
