Multi-Portal Approaches to the Skull Base: Expanding Indications
摘要
Skull base tumors are frequently located in different compartments, thereby portending the need for combined skull base surgical approaches. Minimal access approaches provide exposure to limited regions of the skull base. A combination of more than one such approach may be required to address certain pathologies adequately. Multi-portal approaches to the skull base provide a solution. This chapter explores the combination of endonasal endoscopic approaches to the midline plane with either the transorbital precaruncular, supraorbital or Cauldwell-Luc approaches to the parasagittal planes.
