摘要

Anterior clinoidectomy is one of the finest procedures in neurosurgery. It consists of the removal of the bony shell that blocks access to the opto-carotid region, namely the anterior clinoid process. The advantages of anterior clinoidectomy are well known to neurovascular and skull base surgeons. Many techniques have been described to perform anterior clinoidectomy, including the one achieved via an endoscopic transorbital route. The endoscopic transorbital approach is now entering the skull base surgery scenario, representing one of the available minimally invasive routes to access the clinoid region. The aim of the present chapter is to provide anatomic and technical nuances for performing anterior clinoidectomy using the endoscopic transorbital corridor.
