Transorbital Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery for Intra-axial Mesial Temporal Lobe Tumors
摘要
The mesial temporal lobe (MTL) is the most medial part of the temporal lobe that can be accessed with the manipulation of the lateral neocortex by traditional open craniotomies. Recently, the endoscopic transorbital approach (ETOA) has been proposed as a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of skull base lesions located around MTL, mostly extra-axial pathology. This chapter describes the feasibility of ETOA in accessing intraparenchymal MTL for intra-axial temporal lobe tumors.
