摘要

The cavernous sinus (CS) is a complex venous entity within the sphenoidal and temporal skull base, comprising multiple neurovascular relations. Anatomic studies and preliminary surgical case series have given proof that the endoscopic transorbital corridor is a feasible skull base approach for selected lesions involving the CS area. Comprehensive anatomic knowledge and extensive surgical expertise are required, as this surgical target is in the culminating learning process of transorbital surgery. A concise anatomical review of the CS and a detailed description of the surgical technique will be provided in this chapter, illustrated through anatomic pictures and explicative clinical cases.
