Immunotherapy in the Solid Organ Transplant Recipient

Checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy has limited data in the immunosuppressed solid organ transplant recipient population as early use in this population was associated with notable organ rejection risk. Over time experience with these anticancer agents has been associated with lower rejection risk by altering the immunosuppression management strategy with these immunotherapy agents. This chapter reviews the experience with immunotherapy in this population to date. Prospective data with adequate immunosuppression will move this practice forward.
