Errata

At Tarski’sErrata in the German translation of Tarski’s truth monograph (identified by Tarski)* request, the journal editors included on the volume’s errata page two corrections of the printed German translation of his truth monograph and one addendum. One of the corrections is an inconsequential insertion of ‘∈’ in a formula for the sake of uniformity with its previous occurrence. The other is addition of a clause to a formula that was incorrect in the Polish original and that has been printed incorrectly in all subsequent editions and translations of Tarski’s truth monograph that are known to us. We explain why the clause (a conjunct) is required. The addendum is addition of the date of publication to a reference to Tarski’s published summary of a talk he gave in 1930 about his work on truth. The point of adding the date of publication (1930–1931), of which he became aware too late to add it in the proofs, is to establish that Tarski got most of his results before becoming aware of Gödel’sGödel, Kurt incompleteness proof.
