The Translation of the Polish Equivalents of ‘Intuition’, ‘Intuitive’ and ‘Intuitively’

Tarski uses the Polish equivalents of the English words ‘intuition’, ‘intuitive’ and ‘intuitively’ 68 times in his original truth monograph—“all the time”, as he writes in a letter to TwardowskiTwardowski, Kazimierz. The logicians in Vienna whom he consulted about terminology told him that the German translations of these terms were incomprehensible to a German reader in the contexts where he used them. Each position on the use of these terms reflects an underlying philosophical position.
