Recent Advances in Extraction of Phytochemicals
摘要
Phytochemicals have always proven very valuable to societies all over the globe. Healthcare systems have employed these metabolites as medications to treat a number of disorders. Phytochemicals are further utilized as lead molecules in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. The foundation of natural product research is the removal of chemicals from plant sources. The search for more effective extraction techniques has been continuous. In the same spirit, a number of effective current green extraction techniques are gaining importance, including supercritical fluid, US (ultrasonic), microwave, accelerated solvent, and enzyme-assisted removal techniques. The numerous removal methods that have been utilized to remove phytochemicals from various plant sections are described and discussed in this article. These extraction methods cover both the traditional solvent-based extraction methods and the more powerful current green extraction methods. The chapter evaluates various extraction methods’ extraction conditions, optimal settings, benefits, and drawbacks. Recent uses of these extraction methods are covered in the chapter. The chapter will enhance the study of extraction techniques, which are important and essential to the study of natural goods.
