摘要

Earth’s continental water is stored in compartments varying in volume, structure, and resilience. This heterogeneity challenges our understanding of processes involved in the water cycle’s dynamics. While hydrology typically focuses on studying the water transfers between compartments (fluxes), spaceborne geodesy monitors variations of stocks resulting from these fluxes, the spatio-temporal resolution of geodetic techniques being insufficient to directly infer fluxes. In this chapter, we discuss new opportunities arising from geodetic data combinations to support water management efforts toward water sustainability.
