Thermal Methods for P&A
摘要
Emerging thermal technologies for the plug and abandonment of oil wells present innovative alternatives to traditional methods, offering potential cost savings and efficiency gains. One such technology involves the use of plasma arc, where a high-intensity electrical discharge generates extreme temperatures, melting parts of the wellbore. The advantage of plasma arc lies in its ability to precisely control the heat and focus it on targeted areas, ensuring efficient steel milling. However, challenges include the need for a stable power supply and potential environmental concerns associated with the high-energy plasma process.
