Fire Needling

Fire needles were called fan zhen (fire needle), cui zhen (quenched needle), shao zhen (burnt needle), and bai zhen (white needle) in ancient times. It is an ancient acupuncture method but develops continuously, which first burns the needle until it turns red and turns white and then stabs it into the acupuncture point quickly to treat diseases. We comprehensively and systematically introduce the research on fire needles in six chapters so that readers can have a comprehensive and systematic overview of fire needles: the history of fire needles, fire needle tools and operations, experimental research and preliminary exploration of fire needle mechanisms, efficacy of fire needles, the acupoint selection ideas of therapy, and clinical research on fire acupuncture therapy.
