Concurrent Backscatter for Smart Logistics

This chapter discusses how logistics applications benefit from backscatter communication, and investigates the design of a corresponding concurrent backscatter method called ConScatter. With ConScatter, several tags can be identified simultaneously, reducing identification latency and improving management efficiency in logistics applications. In particular, Sect. 5.1 gives a logistics management vision driven by backscatter communication, and presents the motivation for our work. Sections 5.2 and 5.3 outline the related work and the background, respectively. Section 5.4 introduces ConScatter codes. Section 5.5 provides detailed insights into the design of ConScatter. Section 5.6 gives the simulation results, and Sect. 5.7 summarizes this chapter.
