Other Diagnostic Modalities, Advantages and Disadvantages in Different Pathologic conditions
摘要
This chapter informs the reader the advantages and disadvantages of other modalities. It is particularly important to know, which modalities give additional accurate information about which cardiovascular conditions, so that these tests can be sought in order to arrive at a diagnosis. Almost all of these tests (with the exception of Xray), require the patient to be wheeled to the testing room. This may not be possible in conditions like Myocardial Infarction, where time is of essence and the patient is in moribund condition. The role of Xray has been superseded by other modalities including Echocardiogram which have lesser or no bioeffects. A study of Cardiac diseases is incomplete without a basic knowledge of these tests and when to seek them. This chapter fills that void.
