The Link Between Echocardiogram and Electrocardiogram
摘要
It is the goal of the Medical Team to arrive at a diagnosis as accurately as possible and as easily achievable as possible. In this effort, correlating the findings of the Electrocardiogram with that of the Echocardiogram plays a vital role. This chapter addresses that issue. Before doing the Echocardiogram, the Medical Personnel should review the Electrocardiogram, so that, apart from the regular protocol, a targeted Echocardiogram can be done to look for specific pathology, which shortens scanning time. Moreover, recording the Electrocardiogram (Long Lead II), simultaneously with that of the Echocardiogram, which is the norm, helps in timing the Cardiac Events. Hence, a knowledge of Electrocardiogram is a must for good Echocardiographic Reporting. After reading this chapter, the Medical Personnel should routinely link Electrocardiographic Findings and Echocardiographic Findings.
