Identifying Emergency Findings and Reporting Immediately

This chapter is very important in that it deals with those conditions of the Heart which need prompt reporting and care. Since time is of essence, it might make a difference between life and death. Hence, it is imperative for the Sonographer to not only know these conditions but also how to diagnose them through Echocardiogram. Many such conditions are listed in this chapter. The causes of each condition, the severity of each condition and when to look for the condition are discussed in detail. The role of Echocardiogram in the diagnostic process is elaborated in detail and how to identify the condition as early as possible to institute treatment is discussed in this chapter. After reading this chapter, the Sonographer or the Physician will be able to report Emergency conditions promptly while sticking to the protocol or doing a targeted study.
