  • Prabhakar Venkatram

摘要

This chapter deals with the outflow from the Right Ventricle (RVOT) to the Main Pulmonary Artery and its branches namely the Left and Right Pulmonary Arteries. Hence, it gives information about the Pulmonary Valve as well. It should be included into the protocol, especially if Right sided pathology or involvement is suspected. The dimensions of the Main Pulmonary Artery can be measured in this view and this is useful to evaluate the severity of Pulmonary Artery Dilatation and resultant Pulmonary Regurgitaton. Conditions contributing to Pulmonary Artery Dilatation like Pulmonary Hypertension are discussed in Chaps. 11 and 28 . After reading this chapter, the sonographer will be comfortable to obtain the Right Ventricular Outflow (RVOT) Tract View, identify the structures seen in it, know the structures not seen in this view, look for the pathology that can be visualized in this view, report Emergency conditions immediately and reinforce the information obtained in other views like Parasternal Short Axis (PSAX) View at the Aortic Valve level, where all the forgoing structures are visualized as well.
