The Echocardiogram Machine and the Different Knobs to Get an Optimal Image

In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the various aspects of the Echocardiogram machine, how to operate the machine to obtain images both stationary and moving in the different modes (2D, M Mode and Doppler-Spectral and Color). Most, if not all the knobs are discussed, including their significance and usage, especially in acquiring measurements. The importance of Duplex images is emphasized. Hence, after reading this chapter, the reader will be able to operate the machine easily and in an informed way.
