In this chapter, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, which is less frequent than Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy but is one of the causes requiring Heart Transplantation, is discussed in detail. After reading this chapter, the reader will become aware of the manifestations of this condition, the changes the cardiac musculature undergo, the adverse effects of poor contractility, the accompanying valvular leakages, the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to this condition, the Echocardiographic findings (2D, M Mode and Doppler-Spectral and Color), Measurements, the associated pathology, the signs and symptoms the patients present with and treatment options.
