A ‘Not’ Conclusion

A garden, if loved, rarely has a conclusion. Rather, it cycles through the seasons, growing or being pared back. Similarly I end this book with an open mind and a “not”-conclusion. The story of women’s garden stories has not concluded, they have continued since my research took place: things have changed, evolved, improved or fallen apart. Such conclusions are not-uncommon amongst feminists and writers, just as they are not-uncommon amongst gardeners.
