Creating a Virtual Scene Using Photogrammetric 3D Models and Simulating a Security Task

摘要

This article explores the innovative application of photogrammetric 3D models in creating a virtual scene to simulate a security task within an industrial setting. The study focuses on the generation of accurate models representing the equipment of a refining column through photogrammetric capture. These raw models are then transformed into detailed 3D representations of individual devices using specialized software tools. A virtual scene is meticulously crafted after the conversion process, serving as a digital environment into which the refined 3D models are seamlessly integrated. Each model has behavioral attributes, enriching the virtual setting with dynamic and interactive elements. This integration facilitates a realistic and immersive simulation environment. The pivotal aspect of this research lies in the subsequent development of a security task within the virtual scene. A task is meticulously designed and programmed to simulate a security scenario, specifically focusing on a user navigating through the virtual environment via a VR headset. The user is challenged to navigate between 3D models of devices, mimicking real-world security challenges within an industrial context. An additional noteworthy element is the utilization of virtual reality (VR) technology, ensuring an immersive and engaging experience for the user. The simulated security task becomes more lifelike by employing a VR headset, offering a comprehensive understanding of potential security challenges in an industrial setting. This research contributes to the expanding field of virtual simulations for security training, offering a unique blend of photogrammetrically derived 3D models and behavioral simulations within a virtual environment. The integration of realistic device models and interactive security tasks demonstrates the potential of this approach in enhancing security training methodologies and preparing individuals for complex real-world scenarios.
