Advantages of 3D Printing in the Education Process

摘要

In recent years, the advent of 3D printing has catalyzed profound transformations across various domains, spanning product design and manufacturing to pedagogy. As this technology continues evolving, it is progressively finding its place within educational settings worldwide, redefining students’ learning experiences. The article is focused on researching the use of 3D printing as a production method for learning at a technical college. The analysis of professional literature in the Introduction pointed to the opportunities of 3D printing as a production technology as an advanced technology of Industry 4.0 and 5.0. Subsequently, the 3D printing technology was divided into individual stages and a view of the production process, which opens opportunities for the multifaceted use of preparatory processes, printing itself and outputs of the production process in several disciplines. In the next part of the article describes the beneficial effects of 3D printing, a powerful tool enabling students to materialize their conceptualizations. These practical applications of 3D printing engender enhanced comprehension and engagement with the educational material. In the last chapters of the article, knowledge was summarized, and scenarios for the use of 3D printing for the preparation of future engineers were presented. At the end, the laboratory conditions of using 3D printing for teaching in practical conditions were also presented.
