Mucosal Melanoma
摘要
Mucosal melanoma is a rare disease arising from melanocytes of mucous membranes and has distinguishing features from cutaneous melanoma. Occurring in occult sites and presenting with nonspecific symptoms, mucosal melanomas are often diagnosed late and are associated with poorer prognosis. This chapter reviews the key characteristics of different mucosal melanoma subtypes, the molecular biology of the tumors, and current focuses in treatment.
