Application of Bayesian Algorithm for Selecting a Healthcare Facility

The study presents factors affecting people’s selection of healthcare facility in Ho Chi Minh City. Quantitative research was carried out by surveying people living in Ho Chi Minh City with 201 questionnaires. After analyzing the data using Bayesian Model Selection, it shows that five factors have a positive impact on the decision to choose a medical facility, including (1) Facility, (2) Service quality, (3) Healthcare efficiency, (4) Professional quality, (5) Service cost. The service cost factor has the strongest impact on the decision to choose a medical examination and treatment place. From the research results, the chapter makes some suggestions and recommendations to help hospital administrators improve service quality in order to attract people to use their services by improving the above 5 factors. In addition, some limitations of the topic and orientations are also mentioned for future studies.
