摘要

Green chemistry has been considered a conspicuous topic of interest for the past few years because it is a convenient, cost-effective, environmentally friendly way of synthesis that yields the most stable metal-based nanoparticles without the use of harmful chemicals. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are a very interesting type of nanoparticles and have gained considerable attention due to their distinctive magnetic characteristics. The green synthesis of MNPs has attracted great interest of many scientists and engineers during the last decade. Plants and microorganisms are the primary biological resources that are frequently used for the green synthesis of MNPs. These biomaterials help in the reduction, capping, and stability of the MNPs via green synthesis. In general, magnetic synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) is often accomplished by two processes: a top-down or a bottom-up process. However, MNPs with their magnetic characteristics offer a wide range of applications in environmental, biological, agricultural, and numerous other fields. In this chapter, we will emphasize the fabrication of MNPs through green methods and evaluate their miscellaneous applications in various fields.
