Detection and Mitigation of Groundwater Contamination from Highway Stormwater Runoff
摘要
As a non-point source of water contamination, the impacts of stormwater and highway runoff on surface water have been extensively addressed. However, relatively little attention has been directed toward assessing its impact on groundwater, especially in karst areas. Dissolution of bedrock (usually limestone or dolomite) in karst areas results in a terrane characterized by sinkholes, sinking streams, underground (cave) streams, and springs.
