Vietbank—A Successful Digital Transformation Case in Engineering Asset Management

This paper investigates the successful transformation of Viet Nam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Vietbank) from an intensive labor management procedure of investment, operation, maintenance, and retirement for engineering assets to high automation via digital transformation. The research was conducted with the support of Vietbank’s internal documentation, procedures, and interviews with the team of senior information technology (IT) infrastructure personnel. Vietbank had successfully achieved significant savings in terms of operational efficiency, human resources, and finance after applying digital transformation. Their successful case can be used as a framework for other similarly sized operational banks to base their digital transformation process on in engineering asset management.
