Maintenance Process Improvement Model by Integrating LSS and PM Optimisation

In order to manage service adequately and improve the maintenance process, a guiding model and framework is an important tool that can be used to achieve high performance. This paper proposes a new model for vehicle fleet maintenance management that integrates LSS (lean six sigma) and PM (preventive maintenance) optimisation activities to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. This model bridges the service gaps between maintenance providers and customers and balances the requirements of maintenance managers, deliveries, and customers by combining the benefits of the Lean speed and the Six Sigma high quality principle, as well as the optimisation process balance. Moreover, the TPM application within the Lean strategy allows the organisations to develop advanced techniques in maintenance analysis and adopt more technical approach to problem solving in maintenance. This combination can enhance the management performance of organisations, raise the efficiency and effectiveness of enterprise management, and improve service quality and reliability.
